Former Governor Terry McAuliffe

Governor Terry McAuliffe has made Virginia's Workforce Development a priority since taking office in January 2014. Here in Virginia, many businesses are providing innovative solutions to meet this skills gap. This private-sector dedication to workforce will now have an opportunity to receive state funds to leverage their investment in our Commonwealth’s workforce development. This past summer, Governor McAuliffe announced a $900,000 initiative to provide grants targeted to close a skills gap in key industry sectors. This includes focusing on identifying areas of need for employers and educational funding to increase individuals with credentials to fit those areas of need.

His support of WHRO’s production of Work Readiness Modules to be offered in Spring of 2015 through SkillsOnline.org will help more young adults to be better prepared for graduation and entering the workforce.
